A native of Tibet, Wendy designed her first tour of China back in 1994 for a small group of clients, travelling from Australia. Through the 90's Wendy continued to develop unique tours across China and also Vietnam, setting up a local office in China to oversee the expanding operation. By 1998 Wendy Wu Tours also became established in Australia as a limited company.

The turn of the millenia saw Wendy Wu Tours be the first company to bring westernt tourist to Lhasa, Tibet, with the creation of the landmark tour, Tibeant Dreams.

Pioneering tours followed into Sichuan's remote Nine Village Valley and the stunning Zhangilajie National Park. By 2004 tours of India were introduced to satisfy the needs of Wendy Wu Tours expanding base of clients from the UK and Australia.

The launch of tours to Japan came in 2012, with Wendy Wu Tours going on to be the number one specialist to Japan, with ground breaking tours such as Japan Uncovered and Japan by Rail. Over the following years the company built a reputation for creating culturally immersive tours, winning a award after award, in recognition of their innovation, uniquness and unrivalled attention to detail.
